Codign Software Releases CoView 2.4
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE …
Baltimore, MD – July 11, 2007 – Codign Software Adds Testability Capabilities to the CoView Family
Codign Software today introduced a major upgrade to CoViewDeveloper and CoViewManager. The new version lets developers and managers improve and measure code testability with or without unit testing. Software teams can determine on their own what makes their code testable by selecting up to nine metrics, determining their threshold and setting their severity level. Managers and developers are then notified in real time through the use of syntax-like decorators.
The new code testability features are available with either CoViewDeveloper or CoViewManager. With CoViewDeveloper, developers can set their metric preferences and are immediately notified of if they exceed their thresholds in both the CoView Editor and the Problems view. With CoViewManager, managers can simply assess a project's code testability with one click. The metrics are color coded based on severity and violations, making it easy to pin point untestable code. These metrics can be exported into many different formats, including XML for BIRT and CSV for Lighthouse Pro.
The CoView family is used by developers and managers who want to improve code testability, automatically create JUnit tests, and measure true path coverage. A free thirty (30) day trial is available for anyone to evaluate the new features. Additionally, Codign Software provides the CoView family of products for free to open source organizations, universities and students, with no limitations on the number of users. For commercial users, CoViewDeveloper is $99 per user/year, and CoViewManager is $199/user/year. Bundle prices and quantity discounts are available as well.

About Codign Software
Founded in 2004, Codign develops Eclipse plugins that help developers and managers improve code quality by increasing code comprehension and unit tests with less effort. CoViewDeveloper includes advanced JUnit and DbUnit wizards, path coverage, complexity measurements. CoViewManager includes one-click coverage analysis, JUnit execution time, and JUnit per method. All support JDK 1.4 & 5, Eclipse 3.1 & 3.2 and JUnit 3.8 and 4. Finding defects in the development stage of the software lifecycle increases quality and reduces the cost of maintenance efforts.
