Lighthouse Test Manager Integration: Getting Started

JUnit tests and CoViewManager test results can be exported to Lighthouse Test Manager. Lighthouse Test Manager, developed by Artifact Software, is an online product that manages test cases and many other software development activities.

If you do not have a Lighthouse account, or are not familiar with Lighthouse Test Manager, we suggest you first start here.

Below are the steps necessary to export data from CoViewManager into Lighthouse Test Manager.

  • 1. In the Lighthouse Test Manager: Define and export a Test Cycle. A template will be created in Microsoft Excel format.
  • 2. From CoViewManager: Run your JUnit Tests through the CoView JUnit Runner.
  • 3. From the CoView Quality Manager View, select the view's pull down menu and select export

  • 4. Select Lighthouse Test Manager and click Next

  • 5. Enter the Lighthouse User responsible for executing test cases. This field is defined in Lighthouse.
  • 6. Enter the build version defined in Lighthouse.
  • 7. Select Next.
  • 8. From the CoViewManager: Save the tab-delimited file.
  • 9. Open the tab-delimited file in Microsoft Excel. Note, to properly open the file, you may have to 'import' the data through the 'Data > Import External Data > Import Data ...' option available in Microsoft Excel.
  • 10. Cut and paste the data fields into the Test Cycle Template created in step 1.
  • 11. Import the updated Test Cycle Template into Lighthouse Test Manager.

Every test case that has a status of Fail or Error will automatically produce a defect, and your dashboard will reflect the percent complete for this test cycle.
